Born
in Lethbridge, Alberta, Rob moved to Victoria, BC at age 2 and resided until
19, when he moved back to Lethbridge to pursue his Bachelor of Management
Degree.
Rob
has an older sister and younger brother as well as two dogs, Lucky and Asya.
Growing up, Rob enjoyed playing volleyball, and his favourite summer activity
is going camping and surfing in Tofino, BC. His favourite winter sport is
snowboarding. One of Rob’s favourite rituals with his old friends is swimming
late night at Oak Bay Rec and watching horror movies. Give him his iPod, hoody,
and running shoes and he's good to go. Eating and karaoke are Rob’s favourite
thing to do.
Throughout
his university career, Rob worked for Model & Talent Search Canada as
senior scout and HR advisor. Every four months, he travelled to New York,
Montreal, and Toronto. In addition, Rob worked for CBC Radio as a writer for
his own drama series West End High. Rob involved himself in school politics,
becoming the Chief Returning Officer responsible for chairing council. It was his fourth and final year of university
when Rob decided to enroll in a hip hop dance class; and from there he knew
exactly what to do after graduation: pursue the entertainment industry.
After
graduation, Rob travelled solo to Brazil to surf and re-acquaint himself with
Brazilian friends he made in high school. Shortly after vacation, Rob packed
his belongings and moved to Vancouver to pursue his career. After signing with
a modeling/acting agent, Rob landed his first reality TV series, the
"Nissan Versa: Larger than Life Road Trip," where he ended up winning
the competition, walking away with a brand new car.
After
gaining hosting experience on a web-based talk show, Rob was cast as a co-host
on Hot Pink Shorts. Thereafter, Rob pitched his own show to outTV called
"How Far Will You Go?" The series followed 12 male models as they
competed for first-place standing. In addition to hosting the popular series,
Rob was the choreographer for the first season.
A
philanthropist, Rob sets a high standard as a leader in creating role models
and opportunity for others. Rob and best friend Brandon Howe directed a
modelling competition titled "Hook Me Up: I Want a Modelling
Contract." Besides marketing, promoting, and styling the photo shoots,
Brandon & Rob donated all proceeds to benefit the Play 4 Phil Foundation,
created by Rob himself and his brother Tony. The Play 4 Phil Foundation
improves the lives of young teens, sending them to sport camps. In 2010,
Brandon and Rob produced and directed “Rock the Hem Line,” a fashion show that
showcased four Vancouver-based designers' Spring 2010 collection. All proceeds
benefited The Play 4 Phil Foundation.
Beyond
the front lines, Rob is working towards opening a modelling agency/school as
well as an entertainment company that will produce new talent and fresh faces
for the North American scene.
Rob
is currently working at Ford Models in Hollywood. His all-time favourite quote
is, “Be the change you want to see in the world,” words of Mahatma Ghandi. If
there’s one piece of advice he could give to anybody, it would be: never pity
yourself and play the victim. You and only you can make a change.
